Hello. Thanks for stopping by our blog. We are working on this film project to try to draw attention to an alarming situation regarding child custody after divorce/separation involving at least one Japanese parent. Matt and I have both spent many years in Japan and have children with our wonderful Japanese wives so when we heard of this situation for the first time almost two years ago, we both felt strongly that a film is a good way to raise awareness and to ultimately make it an acceptable topic to be discussed both in and out of Japan. With each situation we investigate we see how the current system for handling this situation often has a devastating effect on those who we should be trying to protect the most, the children.
